Urban Pathways College Charter K-5
At approximately 1:00 pm today an alert grade level principal witnessed two individuals, one female and one male attempting to gain access to the school’s back door. The grade level principal immediately used her school radio to alert school security and additional administrators. The school security guard exited the front of the building and rushed through the alleyway towards the two individuals.
The school security guard confronted the two individuals and they gathered their belongings and made their way towards the alley. At that time, something that appeared to be a weapon fell from the male’s clothing and onto the street. The male picked up the item and began to run. The Pittsburgh Police were immediately contacted by Urban Pathways K-5.
The principal of Passport Academy Charter School has identified the two individuals that were confronted as his students and the necessary steps are being taken to secure the area.
The Pittsburgh police are currently involved and the students at Urban Pathways K-5 College Charter School are safe. Dismissal is currently happening now.
School safety is our number one priority, while we welcome the arrival of the new school, Passport Academy Charter School. We will not compromise the safety of our school community.
